Basic search

Basic search

In basic search, a search can be limited to documents containing full text in PhD theses only.

Search Tips are available below the search box. See Search Tips for detailed help on working with operators, fields and special characters.

If a chosen database selection needs to be changed, click the database link in the Basic Search box. This page lists all the databases your organisation has access to through the ProQuest platform. Multiple databases may be selected for cross-referencing.

Example of Basic Search

In this search, "public administration" has been put in quotes. This will require that all results contain exactly this phrase.

The first and second parts of the search are linked with a Boolean operator, "AND", which requires that both the first and second parts of the search are also in all the retrieved results.

Results page

On the left of the results page (página de resultados), results may be sorted by:

  • "Relevance";
  • "Oldest first";
  • "Most recent first";
  • and use filters to refine results.

The limits are taken from the list of available indexed/searchable fields that appear in the result set.

The Cite tool creates a bibliography. Copy and paste the created bibliography and make any necessary edits. Any selected records may be emailed or printed. Save records to a bibliographic reference manager such as Endnote or Mendeley.
