Automatic suggestions

On the ‘Basic Search’ page, ProQuest One Business offers an auto-suggest feature that acts as a shortcut to quickly access certain types of content, such as company overviews or industry reports, as well as special search features, an example being searching for a term in the company index or the industry index.

As you type a term in the search box, the system compares what you are typing to various indexes, and, if a match is found, the corresponding option(s) are displayed below the search box, together with other auto-completion suggestions for your query. The following example shows all the available options:

On the right-hand side, you will find the corresponding Company Overviews. By clicking on any one of them, you will be taken directly to the overview of the company concerned.

All corresponding special search options are displayed on the left-hand side: first those labelled ‘(as a company)’, ‘(as a sector)’, or ‘(sector reports)’, followed by the general auto-completion suggestions for your query. A maximum of five special search options are displayed, and should different types of search options be available, as in the example above, the maximum number of search options per type is two or three, depending on the total number of search option types available. This means that you may only be presented with some of the corresponding company names, industry terms or industry reports, even though, in reality, there may be more.
