Observations:
On the Search Builder page, you have to activate the "Query Genius" tool to use it (on the right-hand side) – identified by a green button and a yellow bar.
For instance, if you want to search for information about the Apple and its new products which was published a month ago, excluding short articles, such as TV news items, then you should type "c" for "company" and the system will then provide you with the corresponding search code: FDS for company.
Next enter "apple" and the system will suggest several company names. Select Apple INC, and you will then visualise the company symbol Apple APPLC.
Next, press “SPACE” and a menu will appear with the Boolean operators. Select the Boolean operator “AND”, and then type the letter "s" for "subject": the menu will now present the codes of the search fields with S in them and you can then choose NS for the Subject field.
Type the letters "ne" for "new products". The menu will now show several subjects with "New", and you will be able to see that one is for "New products/services".
Next, press the “SPACE” button again and you will see the Boolean operators again. Select the Boolean operator “E” and type the letters "da" for "date".
You will now be presented various predefined options.
(for the first option of "Date after +|-x days ", if you enter 1, then the "date after-1" will search for all content published after yesterday's date, i.e., anything published as from today).
Change to Date after -30.
Press “SPACE AND”, and then enter "w" for word count and enter 500.
Search.
On the “Results” page, you can continue using the filters on the left-hand side, or alternatively you can click on "modify search" and then change your criteria.
If you create a survey and then forget what the purpose of the codes is, then you should double-click on them to visualise the details.
In effect, real value has been added to the development of the search phase, as follows:
You are permitted to use up to 2,048 characters, and can also visualise the countdown as you type the search.
